Known as the residence of the director of School No. 1 for boys, the building of the Piatra-Neamţ Museum of Ethnography, built in 1924 in the Neo-Romanian style, is a historical monument.
The foundations of the collection date back to the middle of the last century, when, with the construction of the Bicaz dam, a complex group of researchers studied the area that was to be covered by the waters of the reservoir.
In 1980, the Piatra-Neamţ Museum of Ethnography opened in its current location.
The museum presents the interior of a late 19th-century house, as it was in Neamț County, as well as the main occupations, tools, traditional festive costumes, interior textiles, and various objects that demonstrate the art of woodworking and folk traditions in this area.
